Hong Kong has changed greatly in the thirty years since our University was founded. What will our city be like thirty years later? Our track record is not great: We live in a city where resources are abused and pollution is debilitating. Hong Kong is one of the most wasteful cities on the planet, and we use more water per person than most advanced cities.
How do we develop policies which will not just make our city sustainable but also provide a good quality of life? That is, how do we make our city liveable? City University of Hong Kong (CityU) is bringing together academics from many disciplines and leaders from different sections of the community to consider how such sustainable policies can be developed and implemented.
Our focus is on Hong Kong with comparisons to other East Asian and World cities. We have three forums:
- Arts and Humanities
- Business and Social Sciences
- Science and Engineering
