AIS Postgraduate Society

Mission and goals

The Asian and International Studies Postgraduate Society was established in October 2006. By launching regular activities, we aim to advance the Department of Asian and International Studies (AIS) and promote public awareness and understanding of a set of important, interdisciplinary issues. The network will also deepen the social and intellectual bonds among AIS postgraduate students in the City University of Hong Kong. It is our belief that having an active student postgraduate body is important to the intellectual and social advancement of any academic departments. To this end, we are committed to serve as a bridge between the department and postgraduate students in order to foster a reciprocal relationship between the two bodies.

The goals of the AIS Postgraduate Society include:

  • To foster a stronger connection between all postgraduate students and AIS department
  • To promote public awareness of and interests in AIS
  • To disseminate our knowledge and its use to address human problems
  • To engage in communications and exchanges with the academic world
