University’s Data Privacy Policies

From: Office of Vice-President (AD)

The University is committed to protecting your personal data and we take the security of your data seriously. Subsequent to a recent review of the University’s data privacy policies, the following relevant statements and code of practice as well as the class of direct marketing (DM) subjects have been revised and will take effect from 25 June 2018.

  • Privacy Policy Statement
  • Personal Information Collection Statement – Students
  • Personal Information Collection Statement – Employees
  • Code of Practice on Personal Data (Privacy) Issues

While the Personal Information Collection Statement (PICS) will be provided to new students and staff respectively when they join the University, all current students, staff and alumni are invited to accept the PICS, as requested by the Personal Data (Privacy) Ordinance, and indicate their DM option. PICS – Students is also applicable to alumni.

When you log into the University's Administrative Information Management System (AIMS) from the afternoon of 25 June, you will find a specific page for accepting the PICS and indicating DM option before entering the system. Please note that you will only be asked to perform this step once.

If you have any questions, please contact us at data.protection@cityu.edu.hk or by phone: 3442 7466.
