  Programme Aims
 
The principal aim of the programme is to provide a sound education and vocational training for students to become technically competent personnel in the surveying profession. It equips students with the necessary knowledge and management skills required for careers in the surveying industry, and provides a broad-based academic foundation for further academic and career development. This programme provides three main streams of study: Building Surveying, Estate Surveying and Quantity Surveying, which prepare graduates for works in relevant government departments, public bodies and the private sector.
 
  Career Prospects
 
Graduates of this programme can work as Survey Officer (Building), Survey Officer (Estate), Survey Officer (Quantity), Valuation Officer and Works Supervisor in the Architectural Services Department, Buildings Department, Lands Department, Housing Department, Highways Department, and Rating and Valuation Department. Graduates can also work in the private and public sectors in the fields of project management, property development and valuation, estate agency, building surveying, quantity surveying, contract administration, property management and construction.
 
  Admission Requirements
 
To be eligible for admission, you must satisfy the General Entrance Requirements and the following programme specific entrance requirements:
  Either
E in 1 HKALE subject or E in 2 HKALE AS subjects (may include Use of English and Chinese Language & Culture);

and

E in 5 HKCEE subjects (may include English Language or Chinese Language*), a mathematical subject such as Additional Maths or Maths must be included
   
  Or
A recognized diploma in building studies, civil engineering or any other subjects related to the construction industry;

and

E in HKALE AS Use of English/ HKCEE English Language*, and

E in HKALE AS Chinese Language & Culture/ HKCEE Chinese Language*

 
* Equivalents for Grade E in HKCEE English Language
   - Grade E in HKCEE English Language (SyII B)
   - Grade C in HKCEE English Language (SyII A)
   - Level 2 in English Language (for results obtained in 2007 and after)

   Equivalent for Grade E in HKCEE Chinese Language
   - Level 2 in Chinese Language (for results obtained in 2007 and after)

  Professional Accreditation and Recognition
 

This programme has met all the academic requirements for the Technical Associate grade of the Hong Kong Institute of Surveyors (HKIS). Graduates who have acquired the required surveying practice and passed the Assessment of Technical Competence can become a Technical Associate of the HKIS (TAHKIS). With further surveying practice and passing of the Assessment of Professional Competence, they can become a professional member of the HKIS (MHKIS).

 
  Articulation
 
This programme is also recognized by many local and overseas universities for admission with advanced standing into second or final year of their degree programmes.
