Notes:

Unspecified electives may include "other languages" at grade E or above.
Students who plan to select Building Services Engineering OR Construction Engineering and Management are advised to study Mathematics (extended module 1 or 2), and preferably Physics, Combined Science (Physics and Chemistry) or Combined Science (Physics and Biology).
Non-Chinese speaking (NCS) students
For non-Chinese speaking (NCS) students meeting one of the following circumstances (certification from schools must be provided to JUPAS), "GCE AL/AS Chinese (min. grade E) or GCSE/IGCSE  Chinese (min. grade C)" can be accepted in place of HKDSE Chinese, to meet the entrance requirements:
• the student has learned Chinese Language for less than six years while receiving primary and secondary
  education;  or
• the student has learned Chinese Language for six years or more in schools, but has been taught an adapted
and simpler curriculum not normally applicable to the majority of students in our local schools.
"HKDSE Other languages" normally cannot be used for meeting the entrance requirement on Chinese Language. While  waivers may be granted at the discretion of the Division of Building Science and Technology, such consideration is only made  under special circumstances, on a case-by-case basis. Students are therefore strongly advised to obtain the requisite  Chinese qualifications.

Assessment of Applications

For applicants who have fulfilled the minimum entrance requirements, various types of admission scores are used to help the selection of applicants. Presented below is the main admission score used by the Division of Building Science and Technology.

For the selection of applicants, preference will be given to applicants with higher band choices. For applicants with the same score and same band choice, reference may be made to the level attained in Mathematics, other admission scores, application information and/or interview performance where applicable.
