The Government of Hong Kong SAR

AO • EO

Administrative Officer • Executive Officer

What is it like to be an AO or an EO?

It may fair to say that of all the government positions, AOs and EOs are the ones most favored by university graduates. In 2009, 25 AO and 100 EO positions were offered. As usual, the competition was keen too with a total of 41,000 applicants 40% of which applied for the AO positions and 60% applied for EO positions. This translates into about 680 candidates competing for one AO position and 240 for one EO position. Well…it not just academics. Do you want to give these interesting positions a try?
