Prof Nora Fung-yee Tam received her MSc and PhD from University of Sheffield and the University of York, UK, respectively. She has more than 25 years of experience in conducting basic and mission-oriented applied research and development projects on biological waste treatment, bioremediation and mangrove ecology. Prof Tam has an extensive publication record, with more than 270 original research articles in refereed international journals, 20 book chapters and has written/edited 9 books in the fields of coastal pollution control and mangrove conservation. She has also served on organizing committees for several international conferences. Prof Tam has considerable experience in undergraduate and postgraduate teaching, and has supervised more than 150 students' projects at BSc (Hons), MSc, MPhil and PhD levels in environmental biology. She has developed close connections with government, the private sector (environmental consultant companies) and local green groups.
