Applicants to be selected for interviews
Applicants putting JS1021 or JS1031 in their Band A or Band B choices (as of 4 June 2012) are invited to the admission interview. Please note that applicants who are not invited to the admission interviews will still be considered for admission on the strength of their academic results and merits.
Interview invitation letter
Applicants invited for admission interviews will be notified by both mail and email between 11 and 14 June 2012. Please confirm your attendance through the online system (www.cityu.edu.hk/cse/hkdse-interview-reply)
on or before 18 June 2012 according to procedures stipulated in the interview invitation letter. Each applicant can only submit the online registration form once. On completion of the procedures, applicants will receive a confirmation email. Please print it out and bring it along on the interview day. If you do not confirm your attendance by the deadline, you will be considered as having given up the chance for an admission interview.
If you have selected JS1021 and/or JS1031 as your Band A or Band B choices but have not received our interview notification by 15 June 2012, please contact us at 3442 4133 or email at cseadm@cityu.edu.hk on or before 18 June 2012. Otherwise, we may not be able to schedule an admission interview for you.
Group interviews will be conducted in this year’s admission exercise. Each group will consist of no more than 10 applicants. Also, the interviews will be conducted in English. Interview panels will comprise staff members from different departments of the College.

1. When will the admission interviews be held? Will it be held on Sundays and public holidays?
The admission interviews will be held from 25 June to 9 July 2012. The interviews will only be held on working days. In other words, interviews will NOT be held on Saturdays, Sundays and public holidays.
2. How will I be notified of the interview arrangement?
Applicants putting JS 1021 or JS1031 in their Band A or Band B choices (as of 4 June 2012) will be notified of the interview arrangement by both mail and email between 11 and 14 June 2012. You are requested to follow the procedures listed in the interview invitation letter to confirm your attendance. Otherwise, you will be considered as having given up the chance for an admission interview.
3. I have not been invited to the admission interview. What should I do?
JUPAS applicants who have not been invited to the admission interview will still be considered for admission on the strength of their academic results and merits. What you need to do is to put our programme(s) as one of your choices if you fulfill our minimum entrance requirements and wish to be considered for admission.
4. I am invited to the admission interview. However, I am not able to attend the interview due to personal reasons. Can I reschedule the interview?
Under normal circumstances, requests for rescheduling the admission interviews will not be entertained. You are advised to make yourself available during the interview period.
5. I am invited to the admission interview and have confirmed my attendance online. However, I have not received a confirmation email. What should I do?
Applicants should receive a confirmation email immediately after completing relevant procedures online. If you have not received the confirmation email, please contact us at 3442 4133 or email at cseadm@cityu.edu.hk on or before 19 June 2012.
6. What is the consequence if I do not show up in the interview?
Applicants who confirm their attendance but do not show up in the interview without notification in advance may risk having their admission scores lowered.
7. What is the format of the admission interview?
It will be conducted in English and in the form of group interview. Each group interview will last for around 30 minutes and the group size is up to 10 candidates.
8. How are the applicants assigned in the group interviews?
Applicants are assigned randomly in the group interviews.
9. What should I bring along with for the interview?
To attend the interview, you are required to bring along with you (a) your Hong Kong Identity Card and (b) a copy of the confirmation email which you will receive after completing the procedures stipulated. You do NOT need to bring supporting documents like certificates and transcripts for the admission interview.
10. How can I better prepare for the admission interview?
Interview performance is one of the factors to be considered for admission. You are advised to stay calm (i.e. don’t be nervous) and be yourself.
11. How will my interview performance affect my chance of admission?
The admission interviews provide us with an opportunity to better understand applicants’ aptitude and aspiration. Interview performance of applicants will be taken into consideration when we make admission decisions.

13. Will the interview result be announced?
