Our Centre offers three internship schemes: Industrial Attachment Scheme (IAS), Co-operative Education Scheme (CES) and Overseas Internship Scheme (OIS) for students in College of Science and Engineering. IAS and the OIS are summer placement programmes for second year students and CES is an 8-12 month programme for final year students. Through the internship schemes, students learn to apply their classroom learning to real life and at the same time improve their problem solving and interpersonal skills. All in all, they gain solid work experience and become better equipped for work. The placement training covers a wide spectrum of work areas, including product/process design, automation, quality management, advanced materials and applications, failure analysis, logistics management, sales and marketing, information system and technology, building and construction management, structural engineering, surveying, biotechnology, environmental management and conservation, etc., all being relevant to students’ major studies.
