This is the first annual conference of Association of Transport, Trade and Service Studies (ATTSS), to be held in June 18 – 20, 2012 at City University of Hong Kong. Note that the CTTFS also organizes a cluster on Transport, Trade and Supply Chain Logistics at INFORMS International 2012, Beijing (June 24 – 27, 2012; CFP is also attached). You are welcome to attend INFORMS in Beijing after ATTSS in Hong Kong.

The world’s quest to conquer global economic and financial crisis, like the one we have been facing since 2008, necessitates an international platform to stimulate collective brainstorms on sustainable integration of transport, trade and finance. This inaugural conference of ATTSS is intended to strike the first step toward exactly that, that is, to create an international frontier of transport, trade and financial studies, with a particular focus on the following issues:

1. What role can transport and trade sectors play in the ongoing global economic and financial reform?
2. Can maritime and aviation industries survive the crisis alone, without strengthening finance and trade sectors all together?
3. How to integrate transport, trade and finance sectors to bring a new order to world’s economies?
