Land and Food

Limited land resources and poor technologies may cause food shortage and price increases in the future!

- Land resource is limited in the world. Increasing population, developing economy and global markets exert pressure on land resources. Demands for food and biofuel are intensifying pressures on land and they are competing with each other! Many forests are converted into cropland or pasture.

- The gap between actual and potential crop yields is large in some Africa and Latin America regions due to poor technologies.

- As people's incomes rise they eat more meat. This increases demand on agricultural land.

To prevent food shortage and the surge of food price, what we can do is try to eat less meat to protect our forest and cropland! Any other ideas?
