HK Sustainability Jam- 48 Hours to Save the World
5 November 2012 (by Ecozine.com)48 hours to save the world??this is the tagline for the Global Sustainability Jam, an event that, this year from 2-4 November 2012, engaged over 50 cities around the world where thousands of individuals gathered to come up with solutions to pressing environmental issues. This year also marked the 2nd annual Hong Kong Sustainability Jam, organized by the Young Entrepreneurs for Society Network (YES Network) and with the support of the ExCEL3 project, an initiative by the University of Hong Kong supported by the Hong Kong Jockey Club.
Jamming teams were formed by 40 selected change agents, which included government, business, academia and NGO sectors, as well as university students. Combining their talents in business, design, media, IT, law, architecture, engineering, and sciences, these passionate individuals were able to unleash their creativity, created viable social business models, and pitched their project ideas to a panel of distinguished judges and venture capitalists.
