Mini LegCo & Youth Forum (HKGBW 2014)

The Mini LegCo & Youth Forum of Hong Kong Green Building Week (HKGBW 2014) was held on 13 September, in which CityU Green Connections has helped support the event through recruiting 5 CityU student representatives to join.

A group of “Young Green Building Ambassador” was enjoying their time for a fierce mock debate on whether the Government should raise the levy of Construction Waste Disposal Charging Scheme. In the “Dialogue with the Secretary” session, veteran journalist Mr Joseph TSE Chi-fung was invited as the moderator and he made the exchange between the students and the Secretary for the Environment even more interesting!

This activity has given our students a unique opportunity to learn about green building issues and experience the policy formulation anad legislative processes. It is hoped that they enjoyed this fruitful experience and would spread the green message to their friends with a view to building a low-carbon capital.
