About the Workshop

In the last decade, epidemics and infectious diseases that spread from animals to humans have battered many cities and countries, costing valuable human lives and huge economic losses. The World Health Organization has pointed out that “about 75% of the new diseases that have affected humans over the past 10 years have been caused by pathogens originating from an animal or from products of animal origin.” The purpose of the One-Health International Workshop is to promote the concept that animal health and human health are indeed an integrated whole, in response to the World Health Organization’s advocacy for building high quality veterinary infrastructure in preventing zoonoses and promoting public health at all levels. Eminent scholars from the USA, the UK and the Hong Kong SAR will give presentations on topics related to Veterinary Public Health and the One Health concept at the Workshop.

You are cordially invited to this meaningful event where you will be able to exchange ideas with world-class professionals and scholars.
