Kudos

PhD student Guo Lei of the Department of Electronic Engineering (EE) has been awarded the Student Best Paper Award at 2015 International Workshop on Electromagnetics: Applications and Student Innovation Competition for her paperCompact Omnidirectional Circularly Polarized Dielectric Resonator Antenna”. The paper was supervised by Professor Leung Kwok-wa of EE. The competition provides students with the opportunity to present technical know-how and demonstrate their outstanding research work related to electromagnetics applications.

In addition, Wang Shiqi, a Year 4 EE student, won the 2015 Eugene F. Knott Memorial Pre-Doctoral Research Award presented by IEEE Antennas and Propagation Society (AP-S). Her winning project proposal was called "Design of Decorative Unidirectional Glass Antenna for WiFi Router". Professor Leung was the supervisor for this project, too. AP-S awards up to six pre-doctoral scholarships each year as a way of encouraging students to pursue a career in electromagnetics.
