Campus Earth Hours

All unnecessary lights on campus will be switched off from 8:30pm onwards every Sunday in order to save electricity and raise awareness about climate change. The "Campus Earth Hours" initiative went into operation on 12 June 2011.

Continued Support for LEAP

The LEAP (Life Education Activity Programme) mobile classroom will continue to park on campus and receive a free supply of electricity, as it has done for the past 15 years.

Formation of the Hong Kong Sustainable Campus Consortium

In January 2010, CityU and the seven other UGC-funded tertiary institutions in Hong Kong joined together to form the Hong Kong Sustainable Campus Consortium (HKSCC) to address challenges posed by climate change and to serve as models in society.

C40 Climate Dialogue Conference

An exhibition showcased CityU's achievements and initiatives that are contributing to carbon reduction at the captioned conference which was organised by the C40 Large Cities Climate Leadership Group in Hong Kong in early November 2010. The event was so successful that the exhibition period was extended to cover CityU's Congregation period from 3 to 19 November 2010.
