How Much Do You Know About the Construction Industry?
Over the past decades, the building industry has met the challenge of keeping pace with Hong Kong's rapidly expanding economy. However, following the Asian economic turmoil in late 1990's and the impact of the emerging construction markets, the industry experienced a drastic transformation in workloads, resources and market structure. Regardless of the economic depression, the construction industry still serves as one of the major pillars of the Hong Kong economy. Hong Kong's expertise in timely delivery of quality high-rise residential and commercial buildings remains internationally renowned, which is in great demand in overseas, especially in Mainland China and the Middle East markets. It provides steady and stable employment opportunities for the Hong Kong workforce.
The construction industry in Hong Kong is recovering. New government projects and infrastructure developments have provided the crucial impetus to the industry. Meanwhile, the aggressive infrastructure projects are attracting major contractors to Hong Kong from around the world, and job opportunities in the region provide the chance to work in the world’s largest and most significant projects.
