The Department has a strong commitment to undertaking high quality applied research across three broad areas:
Comparative Public Management in Asia
Public Policy Transformations in Greater China
Hong Kong Government and Politics
Cutting across these areas of concentration are two other applied research foci:
1. Housing Studies
2. Applied Ethics
In each of these fields, members of the department win competitive research grants to undertake projects (many of them in collaboration with leading overseas scholars) and publish the findings in top-ranked international journals.
