Dr. Wei Wu’s team won two Gold Medals at International Exhibition of Inventions Geneva

At the 48th International Exhibition of Inventions Geneva (IEIG), Dr. Wei Wu and his PhD students (Mr. Fuxiang Li and Mr. Haosheng Lin) of the School of Energy and Environment (SEE) won two gold medals with their inventions: “Energy-free PV Cooler and Water Harvester” and “Power-to-water Battery.” These inventions are promising for renewable energy harvesting, storage, and conversion towards carbon neutrality. Both inventions have been applied for United States patents.

The International Exhibition of Inventions Geneva (IEIG) is the world's largest innovation exhibition and gathers more than 1,000 inventions from 40 countries and regions on display this year. The awards obtained by Dr. Wu’s team demonstrate SEE’s excellence in high-quality research and innovation on the global stage.

Dr. Wu’s research is focused on building energy and sustainability technologies (BEST) towards carbon neutrality, including advanced heat pumps, novel working fluids, thermal energy storage, advanced thermal management, renewable energy utilization, etc.
