Prof. Jin Shang Receives ITC Grant for Development of Molecular Sieve for Low Power Consumption Oxygen Production

Prof. Jin Shang, Associate Professor of SEE, has been awarded a grant of HK$1.02M and additional provisions for postdoctoral researchers over a period of two years for his project titled "Development of Molecular Sieve for Oxygen Production with Low Power Consumption." This project aimed at developing next-generation adsorbent materials and novel gas separation processes for efficient oxygen production from air with high energy efficiency. The team led by Prof Shang in Hong Kong will closely work with the partner team at Peking University Shenzhen Graduate School, equally funded by the Guangdong Government, as well as an industry partner in Shenzhen, to deliver a new prototype of portable oxygen generator that would potentially lead the market.
