SEE Alumni Event - Careers in ESG for Engineers

The School of Energy and Environment (SEE), in collaboration with the CFA Institute, hosted an Alumni Event titled “Careers in ESG for Engineers” on 6 October 2022 to introduce the career opportunity in ESG and sustainability to SEE alumni.

Mandatory ESG reporting requirements of HKEX from 2020 have generated a massive demand for talent with knowledge of sustainability, which has opened many new employment opportunities for SEE alumni. While most people may think ESG jobs are related to finance, organizations also need professionals with a background in environmental-related science and engineering.

To help SEE alumni take advantage of this boom in Hong Kong, “Careers in ESG for Engineers” aimed to introduce the field of ESG for non-finance professionals. The speakers from the CFA Institute introduced the Certificate in ESG Investing and ESG-related careers during the event.

The distinguished guests include:
Professor Julie Li, Acting Provost, City University of Hong Kong
Dr. Ron Kwok, Director of Alumni Relations Office, City University of Hong Kong

Mr. Richard McGillivray, Senior Director, Global Partnerships and Client Solutions, CFA Institute
