SEE Participation in Celebration of Innovation

SEE participated in the an event “Celebrations of Innovations” at Purple Zone of Yeung Kin Man Academic Building on 18 October 2017. This event serves as a platform to showcase to CityU community the innovative work of our students and faculty staff so as to encourage innovations and knowledge transfer initiatives for the entire campus. The project “Solar Robot” was demonstrated at the event and has aroused media interest. The project is led by Dr. Denis Yu, Assistant Professor, and Miss Ying Li, Research Assistant, for the purpose of promoting public awareness on recycling of waste. The robot can automatically separate metal, plastic and paper wastes and put them into respective recycling bins. The battery in the robot can also be charged by the sun, a sustainable source of energy, with a solar photovoltaic panel. The robot will be exhibited at InnoCarnival 2017 at Science Park between 21 October and 29 October 2017.
