SEE Professors Awarded Green Tech Fund (GTF) by Environment and Ecology Bureau

Prof. Alicia AN (PI), along with Prof. Edwin TSO (Co-I) and Dr. Muhammad Usman FARID (Co-I), has been granted a Green Tech Fund by the Environment and Ecology Bureau, HKSAR Government. Their project, titled “Thermally-integrated water desalination — electrolysis system for clean hydrogen generation”, has received funding of HK$4.14 million for a duration of two years. Their project aims to develop a highly efficient, thermally integrated membrane distillation (MD) — anion exchange electrolysis (AEMEL) system. Their goal is to reduce the cost of green hydrogen generation through electrolysis by significantly cutting down the capital and operational expenses of the thermally integrated MD-AEMEL technology.
