The talk would mainly share Viki’s career path from engineering to sustainability industry. Starting with the pros and cons on being a trainee at the beginning of the career, and spotlights on some interesting projects. After working in CLP for 5 years, what is the twist on jumping out of the comfort zone and pursuing a new job. Moreover, how does the work experience in CLP support the new role in Schneider Electric. Finally, the recommendations to the current SEE students on how to plan their career path and equip themselves for future challenges.
Viki is the Senior Sustainability Consultant of Schneider Electric’s Sustainability Business Division, which provide enterprise-level cloud platform for collecting and analysing sustainability and energy data to enable efficiency and reduce cost. Consulting services are also provided to customer on their decarbonization targets. Viki joined Schneider in Jan 2022.
Prior to joining Schneider Electric, Viki worked as an Engineer II in CLP Power HK Limited, a power utility company in Hong Kong. Viki specialized in energy engineering which she has participated different teams on energy-related services, including conducting energy audits, constructing and maintaining solar PV systems on the roof and reservoir, providing smart technology solutions on both residential and C&I sectors, and providing CLP New Eco Building Fund (NEBF) subsidy and conducting inspection to customer’s energy efficiency enhancement projects. Viki also took a role in the Robotic Process Automation team to streamline and enhance the overall procedures and workflow for processing NEBF applications.
Viki received a Master’s Degree in Environmental Engineering and Management from the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology and a Bachelor’s Degree in Energy Science and Engineering from the City University of Hong Kong.
