Sustainable buildings lie in the heart of transforming Hong Kong into a low-carbon city of the future. Large portion of our power consumption goes into buildings in Hong Kong. There is a rising need to ensure buildings are designed, constructed, and operated with the highest possible standards in terms of energy efficiency, water use and use of materials and so on. There is a great sense of responsibility for us to make this happen, especially for the young engineers, to secure a future where buildings are comfortable, energy efficient and well-managed. To achieve this, what do we need exactly? What skills are required for young professionals to enter this area of work? What are you expected of once you make it into this rewarding field of work? If you are interested in these questions, I am here to answer.
