Law Library

Established in 1988, the Law Section of the Run Run Shaw Library at CityU has an excellent collection of law materials including print and electronic resources, as well as an extensive array of research support facilities.

There are over 107,000 volumes of law books, bound law reports, statutes, and journals, covering not only Hong Kong and English law, but also Chinese law and the laws of other major common law jurisdictions. The print materials are enriched by a growing number of electronic resources. Besides the web-based and CD-ROM databases, also available is a wide selection of electronic journals and electronic books. A majority of these electronic resources can be accessed throughout the campus and remotely.

The Section also features two special collections. The English Law Special Collection consists of about 1,800 volumes on English legal history and is reckoned as one of the best of its kind in Asia. The Chinese Legal History Special Collection is made up of about 2,500 volumes of pre-1949 Chinese law.

On the facility side, the Law Section is equipped with different kinds of computer workstations, photocopiers and wireless LAN. Several meeting rooms are available.

A career corner has been established to assist students with their job search and career development. It contains literature relating to law firms and other relevant information.
