LLB Admission Scholarship

Purpose of the Scholarship

To reward outstanding students of secondary schools who are nominated by their school principal and admitted to the School of Law’s Bachelor of Laws (LLB) Programme through the Joint University Programmes Admissions System (JUPAS) and Direct Application.

Number and Value of Award

Each school shall submit one nomination. The maximum value of each award is HK$50,000.

Eligibility

JUPAS (HKALE/HKDSE) Applications
Students who are nominated by their school principal and have selected the LLB Programme offered by the City University School of Law in the Band A choice of their JUPAS application.

Direct Applications
Students who apply the LLB Programme must make application for the Admission Scholarship together with the recommendation from the school principals (for IB, GCEAL and non-degree applicants) or academic department head (for degree holder).

Criteria for Award

The Scholarship shall be awarded primarily on the basis of academic merit (e.g., HKALE/Use of English/HKDSE/IB/GCEAL or other examination results). Non-academic and extra-curricular achievements may also be taken into account, at the discretion of the Selection Committee.

Application Procedure and Deadline

  • Complete a nomination form and write an application statement for the LLB Programme (in not more than 500 words).
  • Submit the application form and statement together with relevant documents from your school principal or academic department head for nomination.
  • The school principal or academic department head is invited to write a recommendation letter for the applicant and submit the application form together with the relevant documents to the School of Law no later than 16 August 2013.
  • Applicants will be invited to attend a selection interview.
