Dr. Tae Yeun Kim is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Social and Behavioural Sciences at City University of Hong Kong. She received her M.A. and Ph.D. in the School of Social Service Administration (Social Work) at University of Chicago, and her B.A. in Social Welfare from Seoul National University. Her research agenda is to 1) understand the etiology and underlying mechanisms of youth developmental outcomes (i.e., mental health outcomes, school outcomes, problem behaviors), with a particular focus on contextual influence (e.g., family, peer, school, community), 2) examine racial/ethnic disparities in youth development, and 3) develop appropriate preventive interventions critical to promote healthy development of disadvantaged youth, such as ethnic-minority/immigrant youth and economically disadvantaged youth.
