CityU joins the International Sustainable Campus Network (ISCN)
City University of Hong Kong (CityU) is pleased to announce that the campus has joined the International Sustainable Campus Network (ISCN). Membership in the ISCN will facilitate the University’s participation in global exchanges with other campus sustainability leaders to contribute to and learn good practices from each other.
“Sustainability is one of the strategic directions of CityU. By joining the ISCN, we shall share CityU's experiences in sustainability with our global peers as well as learn from them through deepening collaboration” says Professor Linda Li, Associate Provost (Strategic Planning) and Chair of CityU’s Sustainability Committee.
The International Sustainable Campus Network (ISCN) provides a global forum to support leading colleges, universities, and corporate campuses in the exchange of information, ideas, and best practices for achieving sustainable campus operations and integrating sustainability into research and teaching.
In 2009, the ISCN partnered with the Global University Leaders Forum (GULF), a world economic forum initiative bringing together the heads of 26 top global universities, to develop the sustainable campus charter, which organizes campus sustainability into core principles and includes annual reporting on sustainability goals, initiatives, and performance.
To date, over 70 top-tier colleges and universities from more than 20 countries across the Americas, Europe, Asia, Africa and Australia have joined ISCN.
“We are delighted to welcome City University of Hong Kong into the ISCN and look forward to providing a platform for international value exchange and partnership on campus sustainability,” says Dr. Bernd Kasemir, ISCN Program Manager.
