The UGC has in 2011 set up a Teaching Award scheme to honour those who excel in teaching in the UGC sector. The scheme will receive nominations from each of the UGC-funded institutions annually. The University supports the UGC's initiative in setting up a Teaching Award to recognise teaching performance, which attaches great importance to quality of learning and teaching. CityU TEA recipients may subsequently be selected by the Provost and Deputy President and President, based on the recommendations of the Selection Panel, as CityU’s nominees for the UGC Teaching Award.
