Agreement for Academic Collaboration forges closer links between CLASS and Hong Kong Police College

An Agreement for Academic Collaboration (The Agreement) signed between the College of Liberal Arts and Social Sciences (CLASS), City University of Hong Kong (CityU) and the Hong Kong Police College, Hong Kong Police Force (HKPF) will help strengthen mutual understanding, foster friendly cooperation, and promote academic collaboration and exchange.

The Agreement, signed on 16 July 2018, details a framework for collaboration in terms of three areas: provision of internship supervision at the Hong Kong Police College for undergraduate students of CLASS; research collaboration in the areas of mutual interests; and exploration of opportunities for training exchange, research and development as well as publication plans for police history and story.

The Agreement was signed by Professor WONG Sing-wing Dennis, Associate Dean (Student Life and Learning) of CLASS, and Ms LAU Chi-wai Edwina, Director of the Hong Kong Police College at the Hong Kong Police Headquarters.

The delegation of HKPF included Dr CHIU Sau-mee, Deputy Director of the Hong Kong Police College; Ms LAM Suk-man Rachel, Head of the School of Specialised Learning; Ms SUM Ching-fun Wayne, Head of the Research Centre; and Mr WONG Kwong-hing Gilbert, Commanding Officer, Police Negotiation Cadre of HKPF.

Dr ZHONG Yueying Lena, Associate Professor of the Department of Social and Behavioural Sciences (SS); Mr LAI Ding-kee Stanislaus, Criminology Internship Coordinator of SS; and two undergraduate interns of CLASS, also attended the signing ceremony.
