Joyce Lee Wai-yuetAsian and International Studies, Year 3Joyce Lee develops her interest in community services by joining many volunteering programmes. She participated in Community Food Sharing and Supporting Network as a student volunteer to reallocate food resources in the community where she worked shoulder-to-shoulder with food recipients. Joyce also worked as a “Wise Walker” in the Servant Leadership Training Programme to mentor and provide guidance for children of parents with hearing impairment. Through these experiences, Joyce has developed better interpersonal and team-working skills.
Since Joyce has hearing impairment herself, she is eager to support other disabled students. She became a member of the Caring League, where she assists in different events which aim at promoting a caring and inclusive campus as an Inclusion Ambassador. Joyce is also a student ambassador in a non-profit organisation CareER, which organises bi-monthly events for students or graduates with special education needs in tertiary education.
With outstanding academic, extra-curricular and community service achievements, Joyce has been selected as a recipient of Endeavour Merit Award under the HKSAR Government Scholarship Fund, as well as CMA Student Exchange Scholarships. In the coming future, Joyce wishes to gain international perspectives by spending a semester in San Francisco State University, USA.
