Non-Academic Requirements

  1. Applicants are required to provide a Letter of Accomplishment [suggested letter template] demonstrating the completion of a minimum of 70 hours (approximately 10 days) of relevant work and hands-on animal handling experience at a veterinary clinic or other animal care organisation (such as animal shelter, zoo or farm). We accept more than one letter. Letters must be written in English.
     
  2. Applicants are requested to submit an Applicant Statement [questions to be addressed], not exceeding 800 words, describing their interests in animals and the veterinary profession, and reflecting their relevant (volunteer) work experience, personal achievements, and aspirations for studying veterinary medicine.
     

Submission Deadlines:

  • JUPAS applicants: 15th of July 2024 
  • Non-JUPAS applicants: at the time of the application (early round: 15th of November 2023; regular round: 15th of January 2024)
  • NUEE applicants: 1st round: 29th of February 2024; 2nd round: 30th April 2024
  • Applicants for switching of home major: 9th July 2024

Submission Methods:

  • JUPAS applicants: Submission link will be emailed to all JUPAS applicants in June 2024. Applicants must combine the Applicant Statement and Letter(s) of Accomplishment in one pdf file and upload it to the submission box. The file size must not exceed 1MB. 

  • Non-JUPAS applicants/ NUEE Applicants/ Applicants for switching of home major: Upload the documents for non-academic requirements via the application system under “supporting documents”.

Remarks:

  1. Incomplete submissions may delay in processing your application or may result in rejection.
  2. Documents that are unclear or written in a language other than English cannot be accepted.
  3. Meeting the deadlines for non-academic requirements may enhance the likelihood of receiving an interview invitation. 
  4. Late submission of documents may lead to the rejection of the candidate’s application.
