Companion Animal Rotating Internship with a follow-on Dentistry and Oral Surgery Residency

City University of Hong Kong (CityU) is a dynamic, fast-growing university that is pursuing excellence in research and professional education. The College of Veterinary Medicine and Life Sciences (CVMLS) was launched in spring 2014 in collaboration with College of Veterinary Medicine (CVM), Cornell University, New York, United States of America. The CVMLS is the first in Hong Kong and is envisioned as a centre of excellence in animal health education, research and discovery, and clinical care in China and the Asia-Pacific region.

CityU is now offering a scholarship to attend the 1-year Companion Animal Rotating Internship program with a follow-on 3-year Residency Scholarship in Dentistry and Oral Surgery program at CVM, Cornell.

CityU and Cornell University now jointly invites applications for this program. The internship program, starting 20 June, 2016, consists of an intense 1 year course of study designed to prepare the intern for a follow-on 3-year residency program in dentistry and oral surgery for certification by the American Veterinary Dental College. Candidates with the appropriate clinical skills and experience may go straight into the residency program.

Requirements:

  • Applicants must be a permanent resident of Hong Kong and in possession of a Hong Kong Passport;
  • Must hold a recognized veterinary degree and possess a current practicing license from the Hong Kong Veterinary Surgeons Board;

Scholarship recipients will be required to work at position(s) assigned by City University of Hong Kong for 5 years after getting full certification by the American Veterinary Dental College.
