New agreement signed with Yangzhou government

 


A collaborative agreement signed between City University of Hong Kong (CityU) and the Yangzhou municipal government on 29 May has laid the foundation for a research institute in the Guangling district of Yangzhou.

The agreement is representative of CityU’s commitment to promoting cooperation with the mainland. Yangzhou is an important city in the Yangtze River Delta economic zone. The research institute will be a crucial foothold for CityU.
 
Under the agreement, the Yangzhou government will encourage collaboration between CityU and industries in Yangzhou. CityU will capitalise on its unique strengths in conducting application-oriented research and nurturing top-notch talent.
 
The ceremony at CityU was attended by Mr Xie Zhengyi, Secretary of the Yangzhou Municipal Party Committee; Mr Wang Yuxin (right, front row), Vice-Mayor of the Yangzhou Municipal Government; Mr Chen Kaihong, Secretary of the Guangling District Party Committee; Ms Yang Rong, Vice-Secretary General of the Yangzhou Municipal Government; Professor Way Kuo (left, front row), President of CityU; Professor Arthur Ellis, Provost of CityU; and Professor Xue Quan, Associate Vice-President (Innovation Advancement and China Office) of CityU.
