Executive classroom named after EMBA Association

Executive classroom 7-208 of the College of Business (CB) in Lau Ming Wai Academic Building at City University of Hong Kong (CityU) has been named “EMBA Association Executive Classroom” in appreciation of the staunch support and generous donations given by the EMBA Association and its members to the University.

The naming ceremony on 23 September was officiated by Ms Alvine Suen Yee-ming, Chairman of the EMBA Association (2014-16); Mr Aley Chang Chi-hung, newly elected Chairman of the EMBA Association; Professor Way Kuo, President of CityU; Professor Matthew Lee Kwok-on, Vice-President (Development and External Relations); and Professor Houmin Yan, Dean of CB.

The ceremony was also attended by Ms Kathy Chan Yin-ling, Associate Vice-President (Development and Alumni Relations); Professor William Wan Piu, Associate Dean (Research and Faculty) of CB; Dr Gang Hao, Assistant Dean (Advancement) and Honorary Advisor of the EMBA Association Charity Trust of CB; Dr John Leung Wai-keung, Director of the EMBA programme of CB; and members of the EMBA Association.

In his welcoming remarks, Professor Kuo thanked the EMBA Association for its continuous support and contributions to CityU. He also shared the latest developments of the School of Veterinary Medicine with the guests.

In her address, Ms Suen said the Association would offer sustainable support to the University. Donations made through the EMBA Association Fundraising Campaign will be used for the development of the EMBA programme and the College of Business.  They will also support the University’s student scholarships and student participation in meaningful community projects, including City-Youth Empowerment Project.

Professor Lee thanked the EMBA Association and its members for their benevolence and tremendous support to their alma mater. CityU has received immeasurable support from our alumni and they have played an important and active role in various University events and activities over the years.

The EMBA Association would also like to thank Mr Freeman Lau Siu-hong, a renowned designer in Hong Kong, for offering his professional advice on the design of the EMBA Association Executive Classroom.

The EMBA Association Executive Classroom is equipped with multimedia audio and visual system and it is generally used for teaching activities of CB’s postgraduate programmes including EMBA and DBA, guest lectures and seminars.
