New book discusses investment channels between Hong Kong and Shanghai, Shenzhen

A new book titled Shanghai–Hong Kong Stock Connect and Shenzhen–Hong Kong Stock Connect— Opportunities for Hong Kong was launched by City University of Hong Kong (CityU) Press on 16 February.
 
The book was edited by Ms Peng Lin, a financial writer and the bureau chief in Hong Kong for Sina Finance, and Mr Liang Haiming, Chairman and Chief Economist at the China Silk Road iValley Research Institute.
 
The publication is the first to discuss the stock connect topic between Hong Kong and both Shanghai and Shenzhen from a macroeconomic perspective and with a focus on opportunities for Hong Kong.
 
During the launching ceremony, Mr Herman Hu Shao-ming, Council Chairman of CityU, who wrote the book’s preface, delivered some welcoming remarks. Professor Way Kuo, University President, gave a speech to show his support for the new volume.
 
Three guest speakers exchanged views on these latest investment channels at a seminar after the ceremony: Ms Peng, Mr Zhou Xiaoyin, Senior Vice-President of the China Client and Marketing Services at the Marketing Department of HKEX, and Mr Hong Hao, one of the writers for the book, and the managing director and head of research at the Bank of Communications International.
