Harmony School Life Competition

To further expand and promote an anti-bullying culture among a large number of schools, the Harmony School Life Competition was held each year from 2009 to 2011. It comprised several sub-competitions: a slogan competition, a comics competition and a drama (script writing and performance) competition. The overall theme of the competition was ‘to enhance respect and acceptance among students and create a harmonious school together’.

Participants: The competition was open to all primary and secondary schools in Hong Kong. Participating schools were encouraged to report their successes to the judges of the competition.

Criteria: The efforts paid by schools in cultivating an anti-bullying culture were evaluated according to the "C. A. R. E." criteria:

-C (Commitment): The degree of commitment by a school to facilitating an anti-bullying culture;

-A (Attainability): The efficacy of a school’s attempt to facilitate an anti-bullying culture;

-R (Resource): The extent of a school’s utilisation of resources to cultivate an anti-bullying culture;

-E (Experience-Sharing): The extent of a school’s sharing of successful experiences in cultivating anti-bullying culture.
