The School of Law is delighted to announce that it will be providing admission scholarships to reward outstanding students admitted to the School of Law’s Doctor of Juridical Science (JSD) programme.
A maximum of two scholarships will be awarded each year. The value of each scholarship shall be HK$20,000. The number of scholarships and allocation of scholarships each year are left entirely at the discretion of the School.
The Scholarship is not payable directly to a successful applicant but will be set off against the recipient’s JSD tuition fees. If a recipient’s tuition fee for the 1st semester is less than HK$20,000, the balance of the scholarship will be set off against the recipient’s tuition fees in the following semester(s).
All students who apply for the JSD programme will automatically be considered.
Selection of recipient(s) will be based on a consideration of relevant factors, primarily the academic achievements of the applicants. Applicants may be invited for an interview.
To receive the Scholarship, a recipient must accept an admission offer, enrol in the JSD programme by paying the acceptance fee, graduation fee, CityU Postgraduate Association membership fee, etc, and commence studies in Semester A of 2013-14.
If a recipient withdraws from the JSD programme within two years after enrolment in the JSD programme or if a recipient’s JSD study is terminated by the University any time during his/her study, the recipient, if requested by CityU, must refund the amount of the admission scholarship already granted to him/her to the School of Law, City University of Hong Kong.
