Recycling through trading used goods

Eliza Lee

A new platform that promotes sustainability and social responsibility through the exchange of second-hand goods has been launched at City University of Hong Kong (CityU).
Hand2 Spot, the first of its kind in local universities, encourages CityU staff and students to re-use products and not to dispose of items too easily or make unnecessary purchases.
The platform, organised by Project Flame, was officially opened on 17 April by Professor Arthur Ellis, Provost of CityU (middle), Professor Linda Wong Lai Yeuk-lin (left) from the Department of Public and Social Administration and the Director of the Project, and Mr Timothy Ma Kam-wah, Executive Director of the Project.
CityU staff and students can trade unwanted items via an online platform or at the two spots located on the main University campus and the Student Residence. For details, please visit http://www6.cityu.edu.hk/sa_flame/hand2spot/
