Mr Liao Hongbiao is a master of Shiwan pottery, an intangible cultural heritage item. Mr Liao was awarded as Master of Chinese Arts and Crafts, an award presented by a Ministry under State Council of China. His artworks have been exhibited in National Museum of Taiwan History. Liao Shi Pottery Studio’s artworks present a rich culture of traditional Shiwan pottery integrated with techniques from western sculpture traditions. This blend of traditions generates a unique visual power that combines simplicity and classical antiquity. Their works of heroic General Guan Yu, amusing monk Ji Gong and earnest old fishermen are favourites among art lovers as well as collectors.

The exhibition is being held at the Singing Waves Gallery, 6/F, Amenities Building, CityU, from 16 April to 11 May, 10am to 7pm daily.
