Five outstanding applicants admitted under The Hong Kong PhD Fellowship Scheme 2016/17
The aim of the Hong Kong PhD Fellowship Scheme, established by the Research Grants Council (RGC) of the Government of the HKSAR, is to attract the best and brightest students in the world to Hong Kong’s higher-education institutions to pursue research degrees. The scheme is highly competitive, as it provides the only direct channel for the attainment of research-degree places at the eight institutions in Hong Kong funded by the University Grants Council.

In 2016/17, five candidates from the Department of Applied Social Sciences, the Department of Media and Communication and the Department of Public Policy were selected by the RGC to receive fellowships under the above scheme.

The recipients will examine cutting-edge and diverse research topics such as criminology, public health, online communication, urban management and applied philosophy.

CLASS is continually active in promoting and supporting research and recruiting outstanding international students.
