Dean of CLASS delivered keynote speech at the Seventh International Conference on Public Management in the 21st Century: Opportunities and Challenges

The Seventh International Conference on Public Management in the 21st Century: Opportunities and Challenges, held at the University of Macau on 27-28 October 2016, was co-sponsored by the Public Administration and Civil Service Bureau of the Macau SAR, the Sun Yat-sen University Chinese Public Management Research Center, the University of Macau and the Macau Foundation.

The conference was entitled “Enhancement of Public Governance: Challenges and Responses”. Some 90 well-known scholars in public management from China and abroad attended the conference to discuss the ways to elevate the level of government governance under the new global environment in governance. Professor Xiaowei ZANG, Dean of CLASS, delivered a keynote speech entitled “Research on street level discretion in the West: past, present, and future” and engaged in active discussion with the conference participants. Among the other CityU participants were Professor Hon CHAN and Professor Ting GONG of the Department of Public Policy at CLASS.
