As a university programme administrator heavily involved externally, I am always interested in pursuing further education in the field of communication and new media.

With determination and much effort, I poured my heart into perfecting my application, polishing my essays, and collecting glowing recommendation letters from respected colleagues and dear friends.  And then, the moment arrived when the universe smiled upon me, delivering the exhilarating news that I had been awarded the prestigious fellowship I had yearned for. Overwhelmed with joy and gratitude, I found myself standing at the threshold of a new educational adventure, a beacon of inspiration propelling me forward.  This fellowship, a profound token of encouragement, reignited a flame within me that had lain dormant for almost a decade since the completion of my first master’s degree.

The MACNM was a rigorous course that challenged me to think critically and creatively.  It taught me how to analyze and interpret media trends and use that knowledge to create effective communication strategies.  I applied the skills and knowledge I learned to my work as a program administrator and saw an immediate improvement in my team’s social media engagement and communication outreach.

I took the visual stream where Dr. Joe He taught all practical knowledge from photography to video production and editing.  It is grateful that the stream stresses a lot on practicality instead of theories. Mr. Sunny Chan’s Integrated Marketing Communication was another course I enjoyed a lot.  Even though my first degree was in Marketing and I once headed the credit card department in Hong Kong, I found Sunny’s class was so fresh and with much-updated information.  I learned a lot in Sunny’s class.  His high volume preparation is respectable.  Mr. Kwan Chuk Fai shared a lot of real life cases in the course Crisis Communication and Management.  These three courses were excellent examples of combining theories and practices which I enjoyed very much!

Upon completion of the master’s program, I have embarked on a project alongside my friends to create video clips with the noble purpose of spreading optimism and motivating young individuals to explore new horizons.  It brings me great satisfaction to put into practice the knowledge and skills I have acquired throughout my studies.  Despite the absence of monetary gains, I find this endeavor to be deeply meaningful.  Additionally, I have gained the ability to enhance the organization and coordination of our radio, television programs, and newspaper columns within my working unit.  Hopefully we can co-create a better society for everyone living here.

Without the fellowship, I wonder if I would have the initiative to pursue this valuable educational opportunity.  I am grateful for the support and encouragement that allowed me to further my studies.  Thank you!
