CityU Executive Mentoring Programme

Explore Career Possibilities, Expand Your Networks

Contributor: Ms. Genette Cheung (Career and Leadership Centre, SDS)

Officiated by Professor Horace Ip, Vice- President (Student Affairs), the CityU Executive Mentoring Programme (EMP) 2020 kicked off in January 2020 with the Tea Reception. Close to 100 Executive Mentors, guests and student mentees gathered and enjoyed fellowship at the event.

The Programme provides a platform for students to expand their business networks and to understand more about specific industries and career possibilities; Professor Ip reminded the new mentees in the opening remarks that fruitful exchanges are always mutual. Students would be able to get the most out of the Programme only by dedicating proactively and sharing their thoughts with their mentors constantly.

“A mentor is someone who sees more talent and ability within you, than you see in yourself, and helps bring it out of you.” With this belief, EMP has been held by Career and Leadership Centre of Student Development Services since 2015, and over 250 pairs of mentors and mentees have been matched successfully.

EMP providing a valuable opportunity for students to expand their social network and to train up their business etiquette skills.
