With the unfailing support of our generous and enthusiastic donors, diversified types of scholarships and prizes are established to recognise students' academic and non-academic achievements. More than 3,900 awards are given to CityU students annually, totalling in excess of HK$138 million a year. The prestigious Hong Kong Jockey Club Scholarships are among the majority of awards aiming at recognising students’ academic achievements while others such as Community Service Awards reward students for their achievements in non-academic spectrum, including leadership and community service.

#CityStudentSuccessStory

We are so stoked that one of our students, Tina, a Year 2 student from the Department of Economics and Finance, was awarded the prestigious HSBC Overseas Scholarship 2020/21. Tina will attend a semester-based exchange programme at the University of British Columbia, Canada in Spring 2021. Due to the pandemic, the selection interview of the Scholarship was conducted via the online medium instead, and Tina was worried about her performance as she had never attended any online interview before. However, she was self-assured after attending the intensive coaching organised by Golden Key Club, in which the coaches enlightened her with useful storytelling skills and eventually she aced the interview.
