The Caring New Force!

Contributor: Dr. Larry Ng (Counselling Service, SDS)

Caring League is a student leadership training programme organised by Counselling Service with the aim of cultivating a caring ambience at CityU. In academic year 2019/20, besides the current team of Inclusion Ambassador, two new teams, Peer Support Fellow and Psychological Wellness Ambassador, are formed to foster peer support and advocate mental health awareness as well as positive psychology correspondingly. The three teams will receive training provided by counsellors and proceed to the next step to organise and implement service activities on campus to build a caring CITY.

In November 2019, a Graduation and Inauguration Dinner was held to show our appreciation to 2018/19 Caring Leaders for their excellent works, and to welcome all new Caring Leaders. Both former and new Caring Leaders assembled at City Top Cafe and enjoyed a wonderful night full of joy and laughter.

We are Building an Inclusive Campus!

CityU always endeavours to promote individual uniqueness and equal learning opportunities on our campus. “Inclusive Campus Activities” is a programme launched by Student Development Services in 2019 targeting at inviting enthusiastic individuals and student bodies to organise inclusive activities, with the aims of spreading the inclusive messages and enriching the university life of students with special educational needs (SEN). Several inclusive activities such as “Sweet in Inclusion”, and “Make Your Own Journal” were held, which provided participants with the opportunities to interact with students with SEN through activities like baking cookies and making leather journal together.
